Let’s continue with the second half of my 2016 summary.
One of the highlights of this month was definitely celebrating the Swedish holiday ‘Midsummer’ with my bestie crew. We went to Anna’s summer house in the archipelago of Gothenburg and stayed over for two nights, celebrating ‘the brightest day of the year’.

Such an idyllic place.

We wore flower crowns, had a Midsummer feast, went swimming, and danced all night. Probably my favourite holiday of the year.

During this month I had to work a lot, but still had some time left to enjoy summer.

Doing things like playing boule in the middle of the city,

Having ice coffees with friends,

And going out with my bestie crew.

AND we went to see Beyonce in Copenhagen!! So many kick ass women in this group.

August started off with a lovely trip to England to visit my dad’s side of the family. We went to Dorset where my uncle and two of my cousins live. As you can see, it’s an incredibly beautiful place. Shot this image with my iPhone 5s and it almost looks like a painting?

Spent some time in Northampt0n with my grandparents, had lots of tea and cakes and watched reality shows on BBC.

Drove along the British countryside with dad,

And visited dad’s place in Bristol.

Just as every year, I went to Way Out West festival in Gothenburg. This time me and Ebba went with ASOS which made the event even more exciting.

Enjoyed watching M83, The tallest man on earth, José Gonzales, Zara Larson, Ane Brun, and Sia, amongst other great artists. Got soaking wet in the rain, went to a private gig in a submarine, and danced all night.

Got a visit from Warwick, my favourite Aussie boy who I hadn’t seen for almost three years.

I showed him around Gothenburg and had a very special and lovely week. A little tip for you: Don’t make friends who live on the other side of the planet. You miss them too much.

Here in the North, summer is usually over when September arrives. But this year, we had beautiful weather through the whole month! So I went down to Malmö again to visit my sister.

Visited Anna who’s studying in Lund, just outside of Malmö.

Made sure to have a coffee with Colin while in Lund. I do love them Aussie-boys.

In the evening, me and Anna went to the beach in a little place called Lomma, where we experienced the most intense sunset I’ve ever seen in Sweden. Felt like dream.

Thankful for that evening, and for having this person in my life.

Went back to Gothenburg and enjoyed some more summer days.

Then I went to Kajsa’s summer house on the coast, to have a Crayfish-party with a bunch of lovely people.

We went swimming in the ocean, explored the Eco-village nearby, had a big crayfish feast, and partied until the morning.

A long a beautiful summer ended, and Autumn arrived. Everything suddenly turned to a slower pace. Walks in the forest,

And cosy coffee breaks with friends.

Me and Ebba went on a trip to Greece with Olympus, for the launch of their new camera.

Had the most incredible days enjoying the sun, exploring the area and going for evening dips in the sea.

Winter came fast, and as always life stands a bit still during this time of the year.

But I managed to do lots of cosy things at home, started my Youtube channel, and started meditating again.

Also did a lovely little trip to a spa with my sister, in the south of Sweden.

Last but not least, December arrived and I went to Stockholm for the weekend. Besides that, it really feels like it has been a slow couple of months. As I said before, in this northern part of the world the difference between summer and winter is quite enormous. It’s just something we have to deal with.

Finishing off with this photo of me and three of my best people <3
I’ve noticed that 2016 has been quite a shitty year for people all over the world, and somehow it feels like things can only go upwards during 2017. For all of us. But maybe that’s just wishful thinking.
What I also realised during this year, is that there is quite a big contrast between my inner self and my outer self. I think I actually know who I am deep within, but the big question has been – who I want to be outwards. I still feel very confused and torn in my identity. How other people see me, what image I’m portraying to others.
In my world, 2016 has been one of the most calm and still years in a very long time. But even though I haven’t had a lot of my usual crazy adventures, I’ve found my way back home. Which I find is something incredibly valuable.
You know that saying “Home is where your heart is”? Well, my heart has been in Gothenburg this year, and it will stay there together with the people I love, no matter what 2017 brings me. I know will always have something to come home to.

I would say that this year in outfits represents me quite well. You see some of the minimalist in me, some of the bohemian. The casual, the preppy, the vintage, and sometimes a little sporty. I do enjoy varying my style and adding a little bit of this and that, but in the end it will always be the simplest pieces and the timeless classics that sticks with me.
I’m really looking forward to see what will inspire me next year. At least I know I will continue to support brands with a sustainable and organic focus, and most importantly – vintage and second hand.
So, which one is your favourite?

Dear readers,
Christmas is here, it seems (how the hell did that happen?). I feel like it was summer just yesterday. Maybe time does actually go faster as you get older.
There are some of you out there who actually follow my blog, read what I write and appreciate what I do, and for that I’m so very thankful.
For some reason, I’ve never had much engagement from the people who follow me. I’m not sure why that is, maybe I haven’t been personal enough. But I’m trying my best.
However, there are a few of you who actually take the time to respond through comments etc. And that to me, is so much more valuable to me than the number of followers I have. I hope you know that. As a creative being, my will to inspire and share is what drives me to continue. Even though it often feels hopeless and like I’m just wasting my time. At those times, your respons is what proves me wrong.
So, thank you for everything.
This Christmas, it’s almost as if things are standing completely still. I’m in a weird place where I know a lot of things will change in my life very soon, and I’m just waiting for it to happen. ‘The calm before the storm’, you could say, but maybe not as dramatic as that sounds.
I will try to be patient and enjoy what is now. Christmas always has potential to be a very loving and cosy holiday, if you make the most of it. So let’s try to do that.
Merry Christmas my dear ones. Hope you’ll all have a lovely end to the year, and stay tuned for more 2016-recaps.
AND of course, if you haven’t already seen it, here’s my latest little video where I’m making my all time favourite skin cream.

2016. A year which I would simply call ‘The year I found my way home’.
Not only because I’ve been living at home in my hometown Gothenburg, but because I actually felt happy about it for the first time ever. As a teenager I always had something against this place, as most people of that age feel about their hometown. But after years of traveling and living in other places, I finally learned to appreciate Gothenburg and realised that it truly is my home.

During the winter, I lived for a few months in Malmö in the south of Sweden. This was a very quiet and confusing period, and I honestly didn’t really know what I was doing there. But there were definitely some good moments. Malmö is a very inspiring and exciting city, despite its small size.

So as I mentioned, I decided to move back home to Gothenburg. I needed a safe place more than ever, to feel loved and appreciated (as we all do).
The great thing was that while I had been gone, some of my close friends had gotten to know each other, and a little bestie-crew was formed. As a bonus, I got to know some new people in this group who are now some of my best friends. Lucky me.

As always during these cold and dark months, I longed for spring to come and invested in some new wardrobe pieces.

The days slowly started getting brighter again and I soaked up every inch of sunlight I could find.

Spent my days doing cosy things with Elsa, like visiting the palm house and going to cafés.

Had porridge with banana and peanut butter  for breakfast every morning, aka the ultimate winter-cure for being tired and cold.

It started getting slightly warmer and it was possible (not really) to sit outside.
At this time, I had a job that I hated for a short while. But I got through it and that’s the most important thing.

Went to Stockholm for a few days and had the best time catching up with my close friends who live there. Went for brunches and lunches and danced all night at silly techno clubs.

Natalie who lives in Stockholm, came home to Gothenburg for a visit and I was happy to have all of my best girls in one place.

May has always been one of my favourite months, and this year was no exception.
A wave of warmth, sunshine and summer-feelings suddenly appeared from nowhere and we enjoyed it to the fullest. I reached 20 k followers on instagram and did lots of exciting collaborations.

Cherry trees blossomed <3

Everything turned green and we wore light spring jackets.

Had sushi on the hill with babes.

Made awesome noodle dishes. Find the recipe here.

Went for coffees at my favourite backyard café with Lina.

What can I say, I’m a regular.

More bestie hang outs in the sun. Christoffer and Lina.

Even the Cherry tree in our garden blossomed, and it made a lovely place to find shade under the sun.

Got a visit from Sofus, my best friend from when I lived at the yoga retreat in Denmark. Was so good to show him around Gothenburg.

Was a real handy-gal and repainted my whole room. Was both a lot of fun, and freakin’ exhausting.

It even got so warm that we could go to the ocean, and I found this darling little strawberry-red bathing suit.
Puh! That’s all from May. As you can see, there is quite a big contrast between winter and summer here in the north. Not only in our surroundings, but in our everyday lives too. We get the energy to actually do things, spend time outside, and time with each other.
So that was the first half of 2016. All and all, what dominated this first half year was the love for friendship. And for that, I’m incredibly thankful.

– Stay tuned for the other half of 2016 –

Hi friends! Hope you’re all doing well and getting cosy for the holidays. As you might have noticed I’m currently focusing on making my videos for Loutube, therefore there is less time for the blog. I’ve also been experiencing some issues with my website, but that should all be fixed now.
What do you all think about the videos so far? I hope you’re all enjoying them as much as I am when making them 🙂
Time’s flying by so quickly right now and the end of 2016 is coming closer. I already have some very exciting projects and plans lined up for the start of next year.. can’t wait to show you!
x Love Lou

Hi dearies! Through the years, so many of you have asked about how I do my make up. So it felt like an obvious choice for my next Loutube video to be a Makeup tutorial! Now you will all know what I look like all the way from my rosy, red, and somewhat dry natural face – to the face you normally see in photos.
In case you’re wondering what the redness on my skin is, it’s my skin condition called Rosacea which becomes quite a lot more visible during winter. (I’ve written a post about it here.)
As you might have noticed, I will be putting a lot of time into my Youtube channel now, so naturally the blog won’t be as prioritised. But I hope you understand, and that you’ll enjoy my videos just as much (or even more perhaps?).
AND – If you have any ideas of what you would like to see on my channel, let me know!
